Meet The Ginsburg Group 

Don Ginsburg has more than 25 years of experience as a Realtor and is consistently one of the Top producers at RE/MAX Boone Realty and in the Top 25 RE/MAX Realtors in the Four-State Region and he continually ranks in the top 2 in sales. Don was awarded the Re/Max Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003 and was ranked #7 of the Top Ten Teams in Missouri. Don has received many awards, but is proudest of being presented with the "Cooperative Spirit" in 1998 which was voted on by his peers. With his designation of GRI (Graduate of Realtor's Institute) and having earned his Broker's license, he brings extensive knowledge and experience to market your home to your complete satisfaction. 


Ted Webber works with Don as a "Buyer's Specialist." He received the “Cooperative Spirit” Award in 2002, voted on by his peers and received the Professional Integrity Award in 2001. He brings to The Ginsburg Group, 14 years of business experience and corporate leadership, as well as 7 years Real Estate experience and prides himself on his communication skills. Gerry Blaise works with Don as a “Buyer’s Specialist”, bringing over 11 years of business experience and over 10 years at Re/Max Boone Realty. He has received his GRI (Graduate of Realtor’s Institute) designation and his ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative) designation from the Missouri Association of Realtors. Gerry works with Sellers as well as Buyers and has extensive experience in Investment and New Construction. Nancy Thomas has been a Realtor for over 16 years and is now proud to be a part of the Ginsburg Group, working with Buyers and Sellers. She has achieved the RE/MAX 100% Club status several years, as well as the Executive Club and has been in the Top Dozen agents at RE/MAX Boone Realty. Nancy served as State President of the Women’s Council of Realtors and was the recipient of the Missouri State Excel Award for WCR. John Sorensen, ABR, is with RE/MAX Boone Realty and has been a REALTOR® since 2005. John is originally from Iowa City, Iowa where he attended Kirkwood Community College. He grew up in a small town, West Branch, Iowa which is home to our 31st President Herbert Hoover. John has lived in Columbia for 10 years and worked at First National Bank for almost 8 of those, working in various positions until he settled in as a Loan Officer. Currently, John is serving on the MLS Committee and REALTOR® and Friends.  


Angela Baum works as the Business Manager to ensure smooth operation of The Ginsburg Group. She’s responsible for overseeing all operations, as well as developing and implementing marketing strategies to get your home sold! Zoning Laws >Easements

Every property has some kind of easement--utility, water and sewer or driveway easements which give access to landlocked parcels. As a property owner, you may be affected by easements at some point.

The easement in gross is the most common type of easement used by public utilities. These easements are often under or above the ground, so they do not consist of actual land. If a utility gains the right to an easement in gross over your land, it must pay you for the diminishment in value of your property.

Easements by prescription become easements simply through unchallenged use by the landowner for a specified number of years (usually 10-20). To avoid such an occurrence, the landowner must periodically make a formal objection to "start the clock over".

The most familiar type of easement is easement appurtment that allows access to public roads and is used to create driveways and walkways for subdivided parcels. This type of easement should be treated by both landowners (and beneficiaries) as actual land parcels to be described and recorded meticulously.
